What a lovely message

Updated: Jul 18, 2020

Sir,

Ninety years ago my Mother would pay a few pence for a kitchen bowl full of fresh samphire from a man on his horse and cart every week when in season.

This was very much a local delicacy and was eaten by holding the root to suck the flesh from the stalk.

Since then samphire has become more widely available....being imported from several countries....but in the form of a cutting with stalk.

It was a great joy to me to receive your supply with roots....so that once again I have been able to relive eating and enjoying samphire in the traditional Norfolk way.

Thank you for being so thorough with your packing and next day delivery.

Eric
